Wampanoag Country Club is a full service, family oriented private country club.  Our golf members enjoy the areas most challenging golf course, quality dining, social activities and a swimming complex that boasts a Championship Junior Swim Program.  Our friendly atmosphere provides the perfect setting for member enjoyment and relaxation.

The cornerstone of our club is a classic 18-hole championship golf course built in 1924 and designed by the world renowned architect, Mr. Donald Ross.  Our golf course offers the finest Bent Grass greens, fairways lined by great Elm and Oak trees, Kentucky Bluegrass rough and flowing fescue grasses.  "Wamp" is known for its fast, yet true putting surfaces and the strategic placement of its bunkers, ponds and creeks located throughout the course.

Wampanoag has a rich history hosting six Connecticut State Opens, seven State Amateur Championships, a Connecticut State Senior Championship, two State Women's Opens and was a qualifying site for the United States Open.  The club has also received notoriety during the early years from our celebrated Head PGA Golf Professional, the late Mr. Bob Kay.  He served the membership for over forty years, played in the 1956 U.S. Open, the 1957 Masters and still holds the course record of 62, which he shot three times.  He played at Wamp with many legends of the game, including Ben Hogan, Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer.

Operations & Membership:
Wampanoag operates as a first class private country club.  Our members enjoy casual club style dining in the Bob Kay room and in our large Main Dining Room.  However, the most popular and unique dining area is our outdoor patio, which offers spectacular panoramic vistas of Talcott Mountain and the Heublein Tower.  Our function rooms are also available to host special events such as wedding receptions and business meetings.  The club also offers golf outings on Mondays and select Tuesdays for your business and charitable needs.

Our golf membership  is limited to 350, which eliminates the need for tee times.  The club is proud to offer a variety of Golf classifications along with Corporate, Social  and Non-Resident memberships.

Location:
Wampanoag Country Club is conveniently located in West Hartford, Connecticut minutes from I-84 and I-91 off North Main Street (Route 218).  We are one mile north of Bishops Corner and three miles from West Hartford Center.  Wampanoag Drive can be easily identified by the sign for Northwest Catholic High School on the west side of North Main Street.

Please give us a call today and we will be happy to send you some membership literature and arrange for a personal tour of our unique property.

Respectfully,

David Costenbader
